Vehicle Impound Capabilities:
Everything Your Department Needs
Vehicle Impound is purpose-built for law enforcement operations. Every feature maps to a real operational need.
Mobile-First for Officers
Officers create impounds on a mobile app right at the roadside. The app works fully offline and syncs when connectivity returns. No data is ever lost.
Web-Based Admin Console
Front desk and impound admin staff manage all records from a browser. Search, filter, update status, and release vehicles without leaving the desk.
Tow Company Portal
Tow operators get their own portal to view assigned impounds and update vehicle status. No phone calls, no faxes, no guesswork.
Role-Based Access Control
Five distinct roles ensure each user sees only what they should. Officers, front desk, impound admin, super admin, and tow company each have tailored permissions.
Complete Audit Trail
Every action is logged with who, what, when, and why. Breakglass access requires a reason and is recorded for supervisory review.
Automated Notifications
Vehicle owners, tow companies, and staff are notified automatically at each stage via email and SMS. No manual follow-ups needed.
From roadside to release, fully tracked
Officer Creates Impound
On-scene, the officer fills out the digital impound form on their app. Photos, VIN, offence code, and tow company are captured instantly.
All Parties Notified
The tow company, front desk, and vehicle owner are notified automatically. Everyone is on the same page within seconds.
Admin Manages Records
Front desk and impound admin track all active impounds on the web dashboard. Status updates flow in real time from all parties.
Vehicle Released
Impound admin authorizes release. The tow company confirms handover. The full lifecycle is recorded and audit-ready.
Security & Compliance Built for
Government Standards
Vehicle Impound was designed from day one to meet the security, privacy, and data residency requirements of government and law enforcement agencies.
Sovereign Data Residency
All data stored in your jurisdiction's approved data centres. Data never leaves the country. Provable for compliance audits.
Encryption Everywhere
AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.2+ in transit. Personally identifiable information is additionally masked and access-controlled in storage.
Single Sign-On
Integrate with your department's existing identity provider. Officers sign in with their existing credentials. No new passwords to manage.
Isolated Tenant Databases
Each department gets a dedicated database. No risk of cross-tenant data leaks. Independent backup and restore.

Vehicle Impound Software:
Common Questions from Procurement Teams
Answers to the questions we hear most during vendor evaluations and RFP processes.
-
01 Where is our data stored?
-
02 Can Vehicle Impound integrate with our existing identity provider?
Yes. Vehicle Impound supports Single Sign-On via OIDC and SAML, compatible with Azure AD, Okta, and other enterprise identity providers. Officers sign in with their existing credentials. The system maps identity provider groups to internal roles (officer, front desk, impound admin) automatically. Email/password authentication is also available as a simpler alternative.
-
03 What happens when officers are in areas with no cell service?
The mobile app works fully offline. Impound records are saved to the device's local database and automatically sync when connectivity returns. The app retries continuously until the server confirms receipt. No data is ever lost, regardless of network conditions.
-
04 Does the vendor have access to our data?
No. SolvLabs does not have access to tenant databases or file storage. All debugging is performed through sanitized application logs or reproduced in a dedicated development environment. This separation is a security control documented for SOC 2 readiness.
-
05 How long does it take to deploy for a new department?
Approximately two hours. Database provisioning, schema migration, and seed data are fully scripted. The remaining manual steps involve configuring your identity provider integration and notification providers, typically done in coordination with your IT team.
-
06 What is the disaster recovery strategy?
Each database has a streaming replica on standby, with daily backups retained for 30 days. Failover can be manual or automatic depending on your SLA requirements. Additionally, the mobile app retains local copies of unsynced data, providing an extra layer of resilience if the backend is temporarily unavailable.
